Platforms have become an identity card.
They are no longer a place where my music can truly live.
I am not leaving the platforms out of provocation or for appearances.
I am leaving them as an artistic choice.
This is the first time I am speaking in my own name, but I no longer wish to consent to participating in a music industry that no longer aligns with me.
For the past few years, I have taken part in this industry as an artist, as a producer for other projects, and as a listener.
I have seen what it enables, but also what it imposes.
Today, the majority of listening is concentrated on just a few platforms.
They turn music into a stream, the artist into a supplier, and listening into numbers.
Spotify, like other platforms, is built on a model that raises concerns for me on several levels.
From an ethical standpoint, editorial placements are managed by investors whose primary priority has become financial return, and for whom music is now simply another product.
At the same time, algorithms impose constant pressure: release frequently, never disappear, in order to have even a small chance of remaining visible.
This system forces artists to become marketing strategists, pushing the very essence of their craft, artistic creation, into the background.
From an economic perspective, artists' compensation on these platforms represents only a tiny fraction of the revenue generated.
On Spotify, to earn the equivalent of a minimum wage, one would need to generate over 500,000 paid streams every month, an unrealistic figure for a developing project.
I can no longer create under this constant tension, where visibility is confused with existence.
I am not rejecting the music industry as a whole.
I understand that any industry operates according to principles of profitability.
But I have witnessed too many compromises, too many decisions made, rarely in the artists' best interest, to continue believing that this system truly exists to promote art.
As an emerging project, if I do not make the choice today to try a different path, I know that what drives and motivates me will soon disappear.
My music will therefore be available for streaming exclusively on Qobuz, a French platform that aligns most closely with my ethical considerations. It is also a platform that offers impartial editorial support.
To support us further, you can find us live in concert, on Bandcamp, on our social media, and very soon on our website.
I want to create a more direct connection between my music and those who listen to it.
I believe that by taking risks and questioning our habits, it is possible to shift the boundaries and create meaningful change.
